SW/LOTR As A DnD Campaign

Well in that case this site would debate the merits of Battle star Galactica (sp?) vs an obscure old tv show from the sixties called Star Trek :)The Corporal wrote:Saw these on SDN last week. Imagine if you will a universe in which SW and LOTR did not exist except as an RPG campaign.
That is not exactly a difficult task in my opinion, but then I always was more of a classic kind of guy.Mike DiCenso wrote: The sad thing is that this intended parody is loads better than the movie it's spoofing.
Everyone has at some point in their RPing experiance has been in a group with at least one Hack & Slash munchkin. Jim's dumbfounded reaction at the GM awarding XP for good RPing on Annie's part sums him up perfectly. As for a favorite character in D&D.... it's a toss up. Pete's kind of grown on me, his arrogant, sarcastic portrayal of Artoo is almost exactly what I could imagine the astromech really is saying. I'm hoping that D&D gets far enough to cover the OT as well as the PT.sonofccn wrote:That is not exactly a difficult task in my opinion, but then I always was more of a classic kind of guy.Mike DiCenso wrote: The sad thing is that this intended parody is loads better than the movie it's spoofing.
Just out of curiosity who is your favorite character?( directed at anyone)
For me it has to be Qui-Gon and his kill everyone and steal their blasters mentality. I can relate to that.
Too true. I'm a firm believer that the game universe exists soley for me to kill people and break things and I don't like disapointing it. So my fluff, if you pardon the expression, is generaly light or not serious in the slightest. I tend to play as Brian the computer technician who moonlights as a barbarian to pay the bills, any interaction on my part besides killing is equally paradoxial.Mike DiCenso wrote:Everyone has at some point in their RPing experiance has been in a group with at least one Hack & Slash munchkin. Well just like the Hack & Slash munchkin you are bound to run into at least one person who believes he is the greatest gift to your team and that everyone should be listening to him. It's even more annoying when he is right and saves your butt.Mike DiCenso wrote:As for a favorite character in D&D.... it's a toss up. Yes definatly, through I hope Jim get's control of Solo. The greedo shootout alone should be priceless.Mike DiCenso wrote:I'm hoping that D&D gets far enough to cover the OT as well as the PT.
It's a very variable spell that is great for attacking, defending, riding yourself of big fish and hostage situations....okay maybe not hostage situations. But it is still the greatest spell ever. Do you think Dooku could stop a giant fish landing on him? No! :)Praeothmin wrote:"I cast Summon Bigger Fish!"

The best part of the whole strip. I've been using it in a variety of situations in RL.Praeothmin wrote:"I cast Summon Bigger Fish!"

Well he did save them the trouble of walking across the planet.Airlocke_Jedi_Knight wrote:Are you sure it didn't say, "Jar-Jar, you are a completely worthless waste of space and I wish that you would die a horribly painful death,"?
I would even say that, in the webcomic, he/she's the most important character in terms of contribution to the campaign...Mike D wrote:In the actual movie, yes, Jar-Jar is a moronic, useless piece of shit, and a pathetic excuse for comedy relief. However in the alternate reality of Darths & Droids, Jar-Jar/Sally is not only useful, but a pivotal and creative member of the party.
