The massive fleet killer from the Dominion War and some bugs...take on the most dangerous ships in the babylon 5 galaxy

both sides are blood lusted and out to kill

From the things I read of the B5 Galaxy, with low KT firepower, I would say the Dominion forces take this, but I could be mistaken...

Minbari range is pretty insane but their ships are glass jaws to certain types of weaponry

You must hate B5 or something. This is insanely lop-sidded in favor of the Dominion. Minbari stealth tech is nothing compared to ST cloaking devices, and at most it takes a couple of 2 megaton nukes to kill the Sharlins, and far less than that to kill the Omega class destroyers.

Most of the salient issues were hashed out in this thread. Even the Shadows and Vorlons ships would have trouble dealing with most ships from Trek.

you sure about that Mike? first one weaponry is pretty sick..even if the rest of their ship..isn't

Take some time and read the thread I linked to, Breetai. Most Fivers have grossly over-exaggerated B5 firepower and defense. It just looks really cool is all, but when the upper limits of both sides are compared, Trek generally wins out.

well I'm not disputing the conclusion at all..merely that anything powerful enough to punch holes in the ground that cause visible disturbances and eruptions from space *will* damage trek shields

problem is even the FO's seem to be turtle moving..sons of guns speed wise and glass jaws

B5 has two problems: Shields are nearly non existent as we understand them in star trek, and targeting ships in space is, in fact, actually very difficult (Something MJS wanted to show).



I will say this, however: That body armor in B5? That's some pretty powerful shit. There's an episode in early season 1 where some tanked up alien of the weak vaporizes people in one hit, and he keeps getting more powerful. He then shoots the main character in some of that body armor and... well.. character shields or not... impressive feat.



But yeah.. Dominon Stomp, two bugs are lost due to a need to suicide for dramatic effect.

I doubt the younger races ships in equal numbers are capable of beating dominion ships and it is going to take shadow or vorlon ships to defeat them.

The main problem is the power vacuum between younger races and the first ones that goes from tech roughly the same as we saw in Enterprise era for the younger races to the first ones having capabilities that exceed all the races we have ever seen in Trek if we use the B5 EU (with the exception of the Q ect).

500 megaton bombs are considered super-weapons in Babylon 5, and can do at least major damage to even first on ships from a distance.

The Black Star was destroyed by two 2 megaton bombs at a distance, and then two or three more Minbari ships of a similar class were destroyed by one 2 megaton bomb. It wasn't a "Golden BB".

Star Trek on the other hand throws around about 50 megatons to gigaton torpedos as standard, and has beam weapons that make rather large diameter holes thousands of kilometers deep in seconds.

Most races don't have shields of any sort, and that means the B5 powers have pretty much no defense against Star Trek magic energy weapon like phasers and disruptors.

While B5 has very good writing generally, it is mostly to hard a sci-fi to win against Star Trek.
