While it will take out 1 or 2 of the Ferengi ships, they will destroy it.
1 Marauder was considered almost as powerful as the original GCS, so while the Sovereign is much more powerful, it's not that powerful...

Well the Ferengi aren't exactly tactile geniuses.

Yeah, but with five ships, they could just stand there and exchange fire with the Sovereign and they'd eventually destroy it...

the problem is the rump faces don't really have to be here...they should possess enough fire power to..be victorious

mind you Sovies are tough bastards if they fight real stupid it may end in Ferengi defeat..but its enough oomph on the other side that

Not so sure, as I said, the Ferengi Marauders were considered a threat to a GCS, so 3 on one vs a Sovereign, methinks still remains a Sovie loss, although with two destroyed Marauders...

a prewar upgrade GCS is what they where supposedly even with and while still very powerful I'm having trouble buying is good enough two on one to handle a sovie with all its dominion war learned goodness

I mean these things where tough suckers the beating that the big E took against shinzon for example I cannot see a prewar GCS taking

Because that's what the Ferengi ships compare to...

yup, a sovereing would probably loose to two or three Galaxy Classes who had been upgraded during and after the war, but pre War Galaxies who seemed to have some serious durability issues among other things aren't likely going to be in the same boat. I can't see a group of Fereingi ships being that was said that one of them was supposed to be be on par with these guys if not slightly superior to them (the pre war GCSs) being able to do the same damage as a fully upgraded combat ready Galaxy variant. Three Marauders are likely going down not that the Sovereign wont take any damage mind you

It is tough to compare the two, as we never saw a pre-War refit GCS in the war, and we have no clue how the Sovie would have fared in the war either.
The only comparable feats are facing the Borg...
I'd have to look at both ships' fights against the Borg again in order to create some sort of parallel...

we saw them laughing off Cardassian weaponry unshielded then humiliating their lead ships in the wounded -but that may not be too impressive Cardassians are kinda crummy

The Odyssey endured having a rather large section of its side blown out but the moment its nacelles got damaged it exploded rather fantastically -something later models did not do

at least thats what I remember of conflicts aside from the Borg

The "unshielded", pre-War refit E-D in ST:GEN endured more than 14 hits by the old BoP before suffering from a Warp Core failure...

Still, we need to use comparable enemies...
