Homeworld 2 firepower
Is there ANY way to determine firepower of Homeworld 2 ships? Thanks.

Are there any offical videos, artwork, or anything else that you can scale the firepower from? Perhaps offical, published stats?

I don't know. That's why I started thread. I did play a game, and there are videos, but all of them are big unknown. We don't know how they build ships and from what. We don't know how, for example, their weapons work. There is possibility that we might calculate firepower by using Hiigaran Battlecruiser's kinetic cannons (it is possible to determine speed and size of bullet, and we can safely assume it's tungsten, as it is best material for such purpose) and then use this:

to calculate actual firepower of other weapons by using relative firepower as published. It is only way to do it that I know of. However, I don't have access to the game right now. Can someone here, if anyone has it, do it? I scaled Hiigaran Battlecruiser to 995 meters.

Re: Homeworld 2 firepower
This is whyt I did on Spacebattles:
Particle weapons ignore mass barriers, and ion beams are particle weapons.
Also, HW2 railgun slugs are massive. These projectiles are several meters long, maybe even dozen-or-so meters. Speed (going from memory) is about 2000 m/s. 12 x 1.5^2 x pi = 84.823 m^3. Or 84 823 000 cm^3. Taking tungsten as material, we get 1 637 084 kg as mass of single projectile. E(k) = 1/2 * m * v^2 = 3,274,167,800,000 J, or 0.783 kilotons per shot (that is for Battlecruiser).
Taking this:
http://shipyards.relicnews.com/hw2/index_hiigaran.html
and we can determine following firepower values:
1 firepower point = 1.2 tons of TNT
Hiigaran battlecruiser:
Ion Beam = 7500 = 9 kt per shot
Kinetic gun = 650 = 0.78 kt per shot
Pulsar turret = 50 = 0.06 kt per shot
Ion frigatte = 315 = 0.378 kt per shot
Sajuuk:
Main gun = 75 000 = 90 kt per shot
However, Homeworld manual mentions speeds of 10 000 meters per second; althought I've been unable to find Homeworld 2 manual. That would give 19.56 kt per bullet, and following values:
1 firepower point = 30 tons of TNT
BC ion beam: 450 kt per shot
BC railgun bullet: 19.50 kt per shot (to give you sense of error, since I rounded numbers)
BC pulsar turret: 1.5 kt per shot
Ion frigatte: 9.45 kt per shot
Sajuuk main gun: 2.25 Mt per shot
