Don't be put off by the interface, it takes quite some talent to get a proper one (a thing Trinoya knows). I think it's totally possible to reproduce something that would be very similar.
Plus I think the old board system had issues with 20 pages long threads.
Now, did they also change servers?

Now, I concluded it isn't as bad... but I'll have to see how it works on a lower connection speeds...

Still taking some getting used to, but I overall find it enjoyable. The look sort of makes it feel off, but I'm sure they'll tweak it over time.

We wanted to inform you that the warning system is now FULLY OPERATIONAL. This is the xenForo euqivalent of our old infraction system and will be used in a similar manner.
100 points = 1 day ban
200 points = 3 day ban
300 points = 5 day ban
400 points = 1 week ban
500 points = 2 week ban
600 points = 3 week ban
700 points = 1 month ban
800 points = 2 month ban
900 points = 3 month ban
1000 points = 4 month ban
Please note that this does NOT preclude us from issuing bans of differing lengths and at different point levels if we deem it appropriate, this is just the levels that the system will automatically ban.

Same. Now it seems that people who are banned can't read the board anymore and can't even log out. Their system is buggy as hell. The bans are enforced as errors. Everything returns an error. lol
Who codes that shit? Monkeys?
