^best line:
"Don't cry, at least Leia is a Disney Princess now."
oh fuck. because, i mean, SHE IS. being that most of you probably don't have 7 year old daughters, you don't understand the possible horror of that statement. next christmas i'll be paying $75 for a special edition set of those fucking barbie doll clones with cinderella, mulan, leia and padme all in the same box.

I don't have a 7 year old daughter, but I do have a 6 year old niece who is just gaga over this Disney princess crap. At least I won't have to worry about your situation, since she thinks Star Wars is boring (a fact I've discussed with my sister :) and would probably balk at Leia or Padme even with Disney's logo plastered across their boxes.

Re: Implications for Star Wars Canon after Disney Buyout
New article with an interview with George Lucas on J.J. Abrams taking over as producer for the next Star Wars film. Most in particular this caught my eye:
"Lucas seems happy not to have to deal with the intricacies of a franchise he created and already re-booted (with Jar Jar Binks), but according to a Bloomberg Businessweek story back in March, about the rough transition from LucasFilm to Disney, that wan't always the case. Indeed, Lucas, at first, didn't even want to turn over his "rough sketches" to Disney. Businesweek's Devin Leonard reported that Lucas eventually attended story meetings about the upcoming film, explaining what was and what was not okay in his universe. "
Lucas has turned over outlines of his story ideas for Episodes 7 through 9 to Disney, and Lucas went to meetings to ensure that they (Disney) understood what was and what was not to be in his universe. His universe. Lucas still considers it his, despite the fact that he is willing to turn it over to Abrams and let him do what he wants with it.

No, they didn't. It's an alternate universe. Not the same thing.Praeothmin wrote:Hey, they rebooted ST,

They revamped it at least... :)
