Anything Trek according to most warsies, they jammed the sensors in ROTJ regarding the shield but i cannot remember many other instances of it being used.Lucky wrote:I couldn't find a thread on this topic.

Communications to at least some degree as well, since the Falcon in A New Hope was able to jam, or it was claimed by Han that the TIE fighter's transmissions were jammed. However, we never really hear of any such thing in any of the later movies, or the PT movies. Not sure about TCW having any real instances of such attempts, either.
Oh yeah, now that I think of it, apparently the first Death Star had some sensor jamming ECM ability as the Rebel starfighters had to go to using the Mark I Eyeball to find the incoming TIEs during the Battle of Yavin.

In virtually every situation they do that, when the tie fighter shot at the MF as they looked for alderaan obi-wan sensed it and had tried peering through the window in his cockpit to see what ship it was lol.Nowhereman10 wrote:

I think their sensors just give a clue about summat being about and a exact fix is beyond them, hence the manned guns all the time.

Yeah, but their sensors can detect and do detailed scans of another ship. For example, the readout displays that Jango and Boba are looking at in AOTC, which showed Obi-Wan's Jedi fighter in pretty good detail and even pinpointed it's location pretty well.
On the other hand, it's insanely easy to spoof Star Wars missiles. The missiles Slave-1 fires at Obi-Wan during the chase scene are spoofed not with ECM, or shot down or anything like that... they're spoofed with inert junk dumped out the ass end of the fighter.
That may have been dumb luck, or Jango used cheap-ass missiles, but we see CIS missiles in the opening of ROTS spoofed by something as stupid as Anakin spinning his fighter around!
In TCW's "Cat and Mouse" nothing is done to jam the Invicible's missiles, or provide a false magnetic signature.

SW is a vast contradiction, you have ground fighting with tactics from the Napoleonic era and WW1, space combat of similar eras in regards to tactics.Nowhereman10 wrote:Yeah, but their sensors can detect and do detailed scans of another ship. It is almost as if they hit a glass ceiling in regards to advanced tech and just made more troops and bigger ships with the same limitations.
Even the DS was just a big armoured gun that could blow up planets while other franchises achieved the same effect by developing missiles that could destroy planets and even stars.
