When has a map in Star Wars ever shown a galaxy that was 100,000 to 120,000 light years?Mith wrote:
I'm not saying that off-handed comments aren't in and of themselves useful. But many franchises have continuity errors and while this one would certainly lend itself to the EU being at fault, the fact is that the comment was rather minor and for decades they've assumed it was a MW galaxy size.
Also, fun note; the Essential Atlas places SW galaxy at 100,000 LY (roughly), not 120,000 LY that you tend to hear about.
Calculating the size of the star wars galaxy.

Regarding dwarf spiral galaxies, yes . . . I'd been having that exact same thought myself. The link, too.

In response to it being an offhand comment: vader would NEVER belittle the size of the empire.

Well, we're all back to square one now. Since the announcement, it means that only the movies and the Clone Wars are still canon.2046 wrote:Regarding dwarf spiral galaxies, yes . . . I'd been having that exact same thought myself. The link, too.

Lucas line-edited the film novelizations, and had his name on one. I have put out an inquiry regarding them specifically but suffice it to say that I have no current plans to abandon them. The radio plays are probably toast, though.

They might be safe, but it seems that currently, Disney doesn't include them. I'd say wait until we get more information before you do anything to any information you got from them (such as your site), but I'd consider them to be questionable at this point.2046 wrote:Lucas line-edited the film novelizations, and had his name on one.
