Why Star War decide make Death star exhaust vent design flaw
Well in practice they did not need it to be design flaw. They had any number of reason to have without call design flaw. Maybe device had used order send excuse heat out could only send out of something that smell no smellier. It kind ruins effective bad guy I love in Empire.

Perhaps they did it in case someone, i.e. Tarkin, Vader, etc. on the Death Star decided to go rogue and use it against the Empire. The Death Star could do an awful lot of damage in the wrong hands. And with this defense, it would be difficult for a rebel group to exploit the weakness while it would not necessarily be so hard for the Empire to do so. The Death Star likely has hundreds if not thousands of fighters, but against the might of the whole Empire, even they would eventually be overwhelmed. Also, those TIE Bombers have bombs so if the Death Star does go rogue, they can just send in bomber after bomber to bomb the exhaust port, overwhelming the Death Star defenses through sheer numbers.

That doesn't seem very likely because the second death star wasn't designed with the port or any known flaw that could be exploited. If the port was there so the Empire could stop the death star if someone went rogue, the more powerful Death star 2 should have had it as well.Enterprise E wrote:Perhaps they did it in case someone, i.e. Tarkin, Vader, etc. on the Death Star decided to go rogue and use it against the Empire. Palpatine was also on the second Death Star himself. The last thing he would want would be for there to be a weakness on the Death Star that he may very well have decided to rule the galaxy from. He was not on the first Death Star so there was always that possibility that its operators could go rogue. If the operators of the second Death Star went rogue, they would have to deal with him personally.

The movies are still canon so the exhaust port is still a weakness.Jasonb wrote:Accord new Star War cannon we did not know if it did or did not have that weakness.

The vent is a design flaw do to being a weakness with no purpose beyond being a weakness.Jasonb wrote:Well in practice they did not need it to be design flaw. You know it's a huge flaw when all it needed was a toilet lid.
