If you mean the difference between ST Tech and SW tech, then I have to disagree.

ST sensors have been superior to SW since ST:TOS, at a time where Rodenberry had even less money and SFX then Lucas had for SW, and yet we saw really powerful, and extremelly technologically advanced Federation technology, when compared to SW.

Well, I could buy why the Tech seems so banged up, I mean after 10+ years of all out war on a Galactic scale, ammo depots and repair bases being destroyed on both sides, not enough personnel to keep things in top shape because of death, desertion, etc...

But to me, the Technology level seems to be on par between the prequels and the original SW.
Same power levels for infantry weaponry, lightsabres exactly the same, fighters look older, but just as (un)powerful as the prequel ones, etc...

Main difference: in the original SW, ships are bigger, carry more fighters (but not more guns, when you compare them to the Capital ships in RotS. they had gun emplacements up the wazoo).
