I was reading this book a while ago, and the weapons ranges and tech in general it gives are VERY different from Attack of the Clones: Uncredible Cross Sections. It says that a turbolasers optimal range is 15 km, and maximum range is 100 km. It also said that the Death Star used a fusion reactor. Nothing like the absolute bullshit in UCS. And this book was written after AOTC: UCS. So, to me it seems like there's one technical manual whose author was grounded in common sense.
And on another note, I was explaining some of Saxton's figures to my brother, who isn't in the debate. Here's how that conversation ended.
My Brother: Yeah, I can believe those figures.
Me: You Can!?!?
My Brother: Yeah. I can also believe that that Christmas tree is a pineapple.
