After watching the latest episode of SW:TC and Episode II and III I have to wonder why everyone assumes Anakin loves Padmé? What I tend to see isn't what I would call a healthy relationship. I'm not really sure how to put it into words, but I'm reminded of my brother's failed marriage not that they ever came to blows as far as I know, but there are similarities.

You know, the Jedi really screwed everyone over by keeping Anakin cooped up in training for ten years. They retarded his emotional development. The entire sequence of events would have been upset by a phone call to Mommy. Picture:

Well he does end up turning evil, killing a bunch of children and strangling her along with destroying democratic rule for a entire galaxy so i suppose there must have been signs...

Less repressed emotions and more internet porn with occasional trips to the SW version of the bunny ranch would have fixed him up.

I think the part I liked most was the whole, "Hey, you know... if you don't accept the purpose and meaning I'm offering you in life, which will prevent two total batshit powerful force users from fucking up shit, the galaxy is gonna suffer.. like.. terribly.. and so will you.. yup, it's all gonna get fucked up badly. But hey, I'm only the ancient uber powerful force user who can hold lightsabers by the blade, pretty sure I don't know a damn thing about bringing balance, not like I havn't been doing it for 2,000 years... what the hell do I know? Oh, still getting on your ship? Okay, bye bye."


... Maybe annie should have taken a hint?

Well this sounds kind of interesting, spoil me, I'm unable to watch any episodes.
I don't think Anakin really loved Padme, not really. Leave aside how badly their "romance" was presented in the prequals, he really only had an unhealthy obsession with her and came off as pretty creepy in many instances. She did not come off much better what with her falling deeply in love with him after he confesses to butchering an entire village of Sandpeople. Their entire relationship just seemes forced to me.

No atmosphere dude, the first three were on location while a lot of the prequals were set on that green background crap. Plus the fact that not one person in the entire prequals or all of then put together has a fraction of the talent of harrison ford.

Look at how thy were portrayed lol, they were supposedly forbidden to get involved so they go to the most breathtakingly romantic settings computer generation geeks can create and she wanders about in revealing dresses and at one point what looks like full dominatrix gear.....

If they wanted to keep it real they should have done a few scenes of him dragging her into a public toilet after a council meeting and slipping her a quick large portion before the ship she was leaving on took off...:).

I don't buy that, Kor.
As a theater play-actor (amateur, still competent enough), I know that atmosphere can be felt, imagined, even when there is none.
We practice in bare rooms, without any of our props, yet when love scenes are practiced, even at the beginning, we are able to create the proper "mood" for the scene by ourselves, and the emotions we want to convey are felt by the audience (in this case, fellow actors and producer)...

Plus the fact that not one person in the entire prequals or all of then put together has a fraction of the talent of harrison ford.

How about Ian McDermid, Liam Neeson, Ewen McGregor, Nathalie Portman, Christopher Lee?
They are all great actors, some even better than Ford, yet all of them seemed like wooden actors in the Prequals...
Could it be GL that asked them to act this way?

Sameul L Jackson did fine..and the guy came off like he really enjoyed himself too, not to mention he made the character come off as genuinely bad ass and intimidating there are allot of points in the movies where Anakin and sidious and even Dooku have "uh oh" type reactions to the guy and you can tell that's more the actor himself then the character

then again..he was just being himself

the reason I hear as a justification for the bad acting seems to be allegedly GL is a massive micromanaging type guy and really restricts what the actors can do..and While there where many talented actors involved in the prequels..they lacked Ford and Jones and the others..willingness to contest and argue with Lucas on points they thought where a case of bad writing and the character should say or do this...at least that's the rumor

Maybe i am not a actor i just figured that acting like you are in a ship fighting or arguing with a robot or alien when actually in a room surrounded by green walls and fighting with nothing is harder than being on a actual set fighting or arguing with a robot or alien that is a actual guy in a costume.

Maybe its the errors or little things we hardly notice but are there that are made on a actual set in those circumstances that add to the believability while the green screen stuff is too sterile and too perfect with all that taken out.

Yea you are right although im not familiar with Nathalie Portman or some of the others so much Neeson and Lee have to be considered top shelf.

While it is infinitely easier on set, with full props, if I can do it, any actor worth his salt can do it, and we all know a guy like Liam Neeson is worth a shitload of salt... :)
