What role would intellegnce agencies play UFP vrs SW GE

This one areas least debate over how intelligence agencies would play if UFP vrs the Galactic Empire. However reason end day Empire of Star War screw. Section 31 seem much effective gather intelligence any other major powers in Star Terk universe. Star War Empire nothing near effect Dominion intelligence.

It is an intriguing question. I do not think we know enough about either Starfleet Intelligence or the Empire's intelligence system to make any form of educated conclusion.
Section 31 is a powerful entity and might remove several Imperial leaders, Admerals, Moffs, etc... But aside from destabilizing the Empire's government I can not see them as being very helpful, they don't really share information with any one else, them being illegal...

From a strict movie and TCW standpoint, we don't know much about the Galactic Empire and the former Galactic Republic's intelligence gathering networks. The Expanded Universe has a number of references, like the Emperor's Hands (which Mara Jade used to be a part of, but were ineffective at stopping the Emperor from dying or doing anything to help the Imperial Remnant post-Battle of Endor). The Ubiqtorate seems to be about as close as you get to a Section 31 under Ysanne Isard for the Galactic Empire.

Yes, I remembered that right after I posted my reply. But it is more of the exception than the rule.

UFP starfleet intelligence able get into pretty tough places like Klingion Empire , Cardassion Union and Romulan Star Empire. Two know having pretty effective counter intelligence agency.
During Klingon war UFP the UFP intelligence found out the Klingon move military headquarters.

Fact at least Cardassion spy provide intelligence for UFP fleet movement suggestion under watch eyes Cardassion intelligence does sound likely pretty effect cover tracks.

On other hand Republic force terrible counter intelligence fact single soldier able to spy on force under control Obi suggestion jedi knight sense force not be major game changer.
Real depend who section 31 able get rid fact survival heart Romulan and Klingon and Cardassion Territory suggestion could carry mission heart of Star War Empire it self. If
Section 31 likely fact heart Imperial territory since able do same Romulan, Klingon, Cardassion and so on. With way Emperor moves Section 31 likely able get rid of the Emperor.
