How important Starfleet intelligence and Galactic Empire intelligence play war.

Probably a very big role, at least early on. Without accurate star charts, the Empire will be reduced to a snail's pace in terms of travel and be easy for Federation forces to attack. With them, they can simply find easy places to chart and attack important worlds quickly while being able to bypass many of the Federation's early warning systems since they're designed to sense enemies using subspace rather than hyperspace. On the other side, the Empire seems to rely on Palpatine. Without him, it splinters, if the EU is anything to go by. If the Federation can learn this, then they can launc one quick strike to where Palpatine is and take him out. That could quickly end the war since the Empire would have a good chance of splintering and fracturing as many of the Moffs, Grand Moffs, and even Grand Admirals vie for leadership. At the very least, the Federation could simply sit back and lick its wounds and prepare for the Empire while the Empire is bust beating itself black and blue during its war of succession.

I have agree with Palpatine died Empire tear it self a part one of the fan-fiction I wrote Section 31 get rid him and Lord Vader as well I put on ASVS.

Also that information not even classified UFP intelligence easily time get that information about Palpatine.

It not like Empire problem get maps about UFP Territory it not even classified information about far hyper lanes go to be much help. The Empire at least first going snail pace until get maps. They likley force adapt warp drives simple timing invasion.
