basically viewing the GE as a threat to their own machinations agents of the ancient protoculture empire contact Mon mothma and offer to assist the rebellion

Dolza sends a fleet of some ten thousand Zentraedi battleships and mechs under the Command of Breetai to the star wars Galaxy he's charged with teaming up with Admiral akbar to help offset the empires forces (if the ftl disparity is too much tech exchanging can occur)

Dolza himself and several Zentreadi fleets are going to show up in SWU but will not arrive to support the rebellion until the battle of Endor-how does the events of the Star Wars Galaxy change?

bonus match up: The Rebellions genius Admiral (akbar) and his mon calamri cruisers and the Zentreadi's greatest commander Breetai take on Grand Admiral thrawn terror of the unknown regions and bastion of hope for the Imperial remnant

how do things go?

At worst the ancient protoculture empire ram the Star Wars forces into submission.

well it wont be the entirety of their armada but a few of their fleets under Dulza should show up for the party

you think the fire power disparity is as great as it is with trek?

I'm not sure what kind of fire power the Macross era has, but I think the Protoculture has sent enough ships that if it has to it can win by ramming the Star Wars forces when it comes to capital ships. One A-wing to the bridge of a SSD was enough to kill it after the shields went down, and we know ramming a capital ship with another capital ship is a viable tactic for taking down an enemy ship in the Clone War era.

When it comes to fighters and ground combat I'm pretty sure the deck is stacked in favor of the Protoculture.

I've heard all kinds of numbers for Zentreadi ships from billions to millions...which is canon?

and fire power wise..a dozen or so Zent ships cooked a small world..but jobbed out to earth

As I recall there are only something like 26,000 star destroyers in the imperial era, and that all the other ships in the empire's fleet are much less powerful.

The Zentreadi ships out number the Star Wars forces by a large margin no matter what numbers you use for them.

It's been years since I read or watched anything from the Macross saga, but everything comes down to numbers one way or another. Fleets in Star Wars are rarely larger then about ten ships, and most commonly about 3 ships.
