Sgt. Detritus of the Ankh-Morpork City Watch, armed with only his fists.

...versus...

Lt. Cmdr. Worf of the Federation Starship Enterprise, armed with a bat'leth.

The area of combat is the Mended Drum, in the middle of a barfight. The winner is the one who survives.

Aaannnd...

FIGHT!

Detritus kills Worf.

Folks, this is a Narsil UBER vs Worf thread... best to move along since trolls like Detritus are all but immortal and if Worf has nothing but a blade he isn't going to scratch the guy.

Aren't all his threads UBER vs Worf these days?

A more fitting question would be if a phaser could kill one I suppose ;)

My last two posts before this thread were sixteen and thirty days ago, respectively. I only make these, or even visit this forum, out of utter boredom while I've got writer's block or absolutely nothing better to do. That has been alarmingly frequent as of late. The former, at least.

Anyone got any tips on dealing with writer's block?

Write down ten random words, 4 nouns, 4 verbs, 2 of anything.

Put them in any order you like

Create a way for them to go together.

If it is for a more 'direct' topic, that is to say relating to a previous chapter or another work, make sure the words relate well to your topic at least (so if you doing an article on trees do not put down Romulan).

You'd be surprised the connections your mind can make. This method works well for me. Enjoy ^_^

Thanks, but I have everything I need to know about my plot already. Except, of course, how and where to actually start writing it. It's an original fantasy novel, if you're wondering, about a sorceress who goes out and does something that I am not going to specify because I don't like spoiling people. It's a bad idea to utterly spoilerise the storyline unless it's merely a teaser to be put up.

Of course, this thread just displays that SFJ's other sci-fi forum is about as useful as a chocolate fireguard as it's now being used for writing tips. Figures, I suppose.
