Wow look at that thread go, without there major support Inquisitor Ryan they seam to have lost alot of steam though. Gotta say the level of nitpicking he was going to to rationalize away the other omnipotents in trek is astonishing.
They can only cause inanimate objects to heat up lmao that was classic.

That's pretty abysmal as a claim. He really went down there (I stopped reading the thread, nothing really good came out of it).Episky wrote:Wow look at that thread go, without there major support Inquisitor Ryan they seam to have lost alot of steam though. I mean to be fair people can inflate trek cosmics really bad (Q vs the lt was one of the most retarded threads I've ever participated in in the last couple years I can only see it matched by Sasuke vs god and Luke vs the LT as far as fail threads go)..I've never seen a more bullheaded straight up biased attempt to hand wave evidence this side of well one of our resident posters) but that aside
I'm probably a little out of line for saying this but what they seemed to be doing according to you two is pants on head stupid..."only heat up random objects"...come on now

Wow they actually banned every single Trek supporter from that thread. I mean I know Kor was banned for language but I wonder what ricery1 and alteran were banned for.

Eh he didn't seem too bad when I was there. Though I don't see how the mod was able to ban him for just disagreeing with him.Admiral Breetai wrote:isn't ricery like one of the biggest most vulgar and stubborn trolls around?

Re: LMAO@SpaceBattles!
In light of what was posted in the latest ST vs Eldar & Tau thread, I updated my own Caves of Ice thread.
But the more I read the SBC thread, the more asinine arguments in favour of Connor's CoI calcs I see being repeated. They're nothing new at all.
With much irony, we see that SS4 falls for conflation twice.
Which brings me to point two.
He conflates his duty as a moderator, and his will to debate the meaning of that piece of canon material.

First. He goes to conflate two lines which we have just as many reasons to believe to be separate. He thinks he can declare that they're not and have the whole board follow in because he says so.SS4 wrote:As Orsai said, context.Alteran wrote: Um no it doesn't directly say lance batteries could level a continent. It states that the lances would be used to destroy the Necron city and that is all.
"Nothing in our inventory would even come close to doing the job, but an astropathic message to the nearest naval unit would bring a task force here within weeks, and a flotilla of battleships ought to be enough to level the continent. A couple of barrages from their lance batteries would be enough to excise this cancer, however deeply it was buried.
Of course the planet would be rendered uninhabitable for generations"
It talks about Lance Batteries, then quickly goes on to say it would render the planet uninhabitable for generations. It had also previously stated that a flotilla would be sufficient to level a continent, THEN talked about the Lance Batteries.
This is the context Orsai was referring to. If you just took the two phrases separately, you might have a case. However, they are together, which means they are referring to each other.
The Lance Batteries are what Cain was referring to.
Which brings me to point two.

Re: LMAO@SpaceBattles!
The way i read that is that:"Nothing in our inventory would even come close to doing the job, but an astropathic message to the nearest naval unit would bring a task force here within weeks, and a flotilla of battleships ought to be enough to level the continent. A couple of barrages from their lance batteries would be enough to excise this cancer, however deeply it was buried.

1. It would take a flotilla of battleships a unknown amount of time to "level a continent" so the ship or fleet Orsai had at his disposal (if he had one) could not.
2. That it would take the entire flotilla of battleships firing all their lance batteries multiple times to blast a buried something or other.
3. That doing so will cause some sort of nuclear winter ect that will make the planet uninhabitable.
It should be noted that i do not know the entire context or have seen the entire quote or reference.

ROFLMAO I think they usually say.In post 874, SS4 wrote:
Just to point it out, I was never debating in this thread, all my posts were as a moderator.
Ricrery1 however, you're attempts to bait me in, quasi-flaming a moderator, and just, all-in-all being, well, you, have only resulted in you getting a minimum week off from Vs. Hopefully you enjoy the time off.
Say good bye to Ricrery1 everyone.
Like I said, the kiddy gloves have come off.
Did he just pretend he didn't debate?
Oh wait. That's true. They don't debate, they just run on "broken record" mode.

Re: LMAO@SpaceBattles!
Hey guys, I said I don't debate:
I don't necessarily disagree with him here, but it's pretty obvious that he is debating. If he's not, then he's enforcing his opinion and denying a debate on it, and threatening another member based on his own interpretation of dialogue.SS4 wrote:Ok, Strangelove, lower the flames, crayons melt too easily.
Kor, knock it off. People are allowed to interpret things, the line does leave itself open to interpretation, the very fact it starts "per" then just, stops, means people can try and interpret what would come after per by using other statements to try and rectify it. Because every other source saying one thing, then suddenly one source saying another, does not nullify what all the others say.

Re: LMAO@SpaceBattles!
Wow this is really funny.
Not only does he yell at kor for reporting people breaking the rules he closes a thread that 40k is clearly loosing for no apparent reason.Kor, as an official warning, stop being so whiny. Its some random, mild image macro from a Jack Chick cartoon that some random degenerate edited. You can also stop reporting posts every time a mouse farts in your general direction, because you are clogging up the system with incessant reports. If you want anyone to take you seriously, you'll stop sending so many. You'll also stop sending so many because its drowning everyone else out like Episky was doing and if it becomes a problem punitive measures will be taken. Furthermore, stop pretending you're not liable to the rules and its everyone else who is wrong.
I'm going to close this because its been a god awful number of pages and tempers are probably flaring. One random bit for the future

Re: LMAO@SpaceBattles!
Not sure if Kor was saying that everyone else is wrong, but surely it seems that every time, or most of the times, it takes two to dance, yet the other barely get any warning, despite flaming at abandon.
Even Mith was walking on eggs. You know, the obliged über political correctness and gentleness that forces you to triple the size of each reply just to avoid bruising any sensible ego and serving the blade that's going to dice you, with things like "imho" or "but I could be totally wrong and freely admit my mistake" or "if that is so then I'm sorry I didn't mean it..." blah blah blah.
