My Superior Death Star

Post by Youngla0450 » Fri Jul 02, 2010 2:00 pm

If I could design the First Death Star, I would amplify it's power, increase security, and seal up it's weaknesses:

*I would equip the exhaust port with eighty guns and turbolasers. I would also equip it with shields and force-fields that could resist radiation, blaster fire, proton torpedoes, Star Trek photon torpedoes, Star Trek quantum torpedoes, turbo-laser fire, and minor asteroids.

*I would station 45 guards at each Detention block, and in each of the major rooms of the Death Star.

*I would have a central computer that would run the Death Star's library, weapons, scientific lavatories, and engines.

*I would install engines that could give the Death Star the speed of the Millennium Falcon. The Falcon can cross a entire galaxy in less then three hours, while it took the pitiful Voyager seven years to cross one sector of the galaxy.

*I would improve the super-laser so that it could destroy planets and moons within every three minutes, and that it could destroy capital ships every minute.

Yes, and I'm sure you wouldn't have done all the mistakes famous generals have made in the course of history; mistakes that often-times have cost them their victory. You would have won all wars and conquered the whole planet.

It is easy to look back and say what one would have done better.
Do you really think that it is so easy? Simply decide to do something and it is done?
Don't you think that if all that would have been possible or sensible, they wouldn't have done it?

Really, how old are you?

Look Serafina (I know who you are because of pieces of evidence), I am not saying it will be easy to fix up the Death Star. It would take some time, but it can be done.

Will your new DS design include a mechanism that allows those on board it to understand sarcasm?.

He's just trying to get your goat WILGA, or annoy you and make you angry to use a less colorful expression, there isn't need for you to give him rebuttles as to why his flights of fancy are simply just that. Flights of fancy.

It doesn't matter (although legally, per the terms of service, one must be at least 13 to register for the board). And please don't post giant animated smilies in lieu of actual replies. I've taken the liberty of deleting it from this thread under the rarely exercised clause "No spamming. Posts devoid of content are subject to deletion."

"Show me a general who has made no mistakes and you speak of a general who has seldom waged war."
Marshal Turenne, 1641.

Shamelessly copied from someone's else sig.

Yeah well... good luck with that?

I'm not sure there's going to be a large audience for what may be nothing more than a fanboyed tale about "Me and my perfect Death Star"...
In its concept, it looks barely better than my x-wing has 8 laser cannons, 4 torpedo tubes, better hyperdrives, better shields, better maneuverability, better acceleration and can even turn invisible.

I am going to make it as organized and detailed as possible. I want to make it interesting to at least some extent!

Actually, simply adding Point-Defense guns for tracking fast ships like starfighters, and adding a particle shielding to the port would have helped a lot.

Barring that, launching more then 6 Ties to intercept once the attack was discovered would also have helped...

All of this is good advice. I will try to add that to my new and improved Death Star.

You sound like you're building a real life model.
Besides, there is no try.
