Why? It makes no sense whatsoever. It's as silly as imagining every admiral, general, colonel commodore, and so on in the U.S.A Armed Forces showing up in Washington D.C. when it gets hit by a large terrorist nuke. What are the odds of that? Virtually nil.

You may think it's ludicrous, but please just inform me what is most likely to happen if Earth is destroyed with all of the fleet captains, commodores, rear-admirals, vice-admirals, admirals, and fleet admirals on the world at the time. As well the President, his Cabinet, and the members of the Federation Council, plus the major ambassadors, as well. How would many Federation worlds react to this destruction of Earth, the government, and admiralty? How would the Romulans and Klingons react? How would the Borg react? How would the Breen or Dominion react?

Youngla, you've been told what will happen. The various worlds of the federation enact martial law. Then new officials are elected. These officials promote military officers to fill the ranks and the capital of the federation is moved to Vulcan, mars, andoria, or tellar. An investigation is launched, the romulans do nothing, the Klingons do nothing, the dominion do nothing, and the Borg do nothing. Shortly there after the deathstar vanishes from existence as one of the many god like beings that chill on earth or just really like humans fixes the problem... That or the future Feds wonder WTF just happened and go to fix the timeline.

How about you show a glimmer of creativity and write a story within the story instead of trying to grand stand everything and wank it up to the point of absurdity.

You are constructing what are essentially a "reports" on a events and or ships/stations/technology rather than writing a story with a interesting plot, a few sub plots as well as interesting character depth and development.

Pick a big background "event" (the destruction of Earth by the DS if you wish) but then write a story from the perspectives and attitudes of the crews on a single warship in each fleet (not the flagships or the DS).

Simply put if you want what you write to be worth reading uou need more story and less wank.

Thanks for the advice, Mr. Kor. I have posted a story called The Destruction of Earth: The Crippling of the Federation in the "Stories and Roleplaying forum". Please post coments on that story here, though. And anyways, Kor, I have taken your thoughts into consideration. The first chapter is a unbiased, non-wank description of Earth, the Federation, and the surronding powers. The second chapter will be a description of the Admiralty, government, and people. Yes some Admirals will be created for this time period. The third chapter will be about the Imperials finding a link to the Star Trek universe, gatheirng fully-detailed navigational data, and, instead of invading the Federation directly, sending the Death Star to destroy Earth. It will also include a unbiased, non-wank description of the Galactic Empire. The fourth chapter will be the actual destruction of Earth and the final mouments of the people before being destroyed. The fifth chapter will be a description of the reaction of captains, Federation member worlds, and even the Klingons, Romulans, and Dominion, all across the galaxy. It will especially center on the reaction of the USS Enterprise NCC-1701-E (since this is set in 2379 in the Star Trek universe, and a alternate 0 BBY in the Star Wars Universe). The sixth chapter will be about the gradual breakup of the Federation. It will also describe how the Romulans will try to take advantage of the situation. The Borg will learn about the destruction of Earth by assmilating a Federation ship, and will invade. The final chapter will describe what happens to all these people.
