Am I the only one who thinks they SHOULDN'T make Earth a nuclear wasteland?

My primary reason? TOS Galactica they come across a nuclear wasteland that was a colony of the 13th tribe, but that was not earth (they also come across one called Terra that is about to become a nuclear wasteland).
Furthermore, there are a lot of interesting problems such as there being no visible landmarks or features. There is also the interesting problem that its the final FIVE who will lead them to earth (not the final three who gathered around a viper), not to mention we still have 10 more episodes.
Actually, you know what, while I'm writing this I've been reading through another posters reasoning. I'm sad to say his version is not only better than mine but has even more relevant information (things I missed, such as the moon). Since his version is about a hundred times better than mine I think I'll link to it. I'll give out some credit here to Bond, Jame Bond, over at SCN.

But yeah, for pretty much all I said and all he says.
