There are countless examples of weapons either being fired or readied to fire while at warp. It's a bald-faced lie, and the only way that they would be getting away with it is belief in the Saxtonite party line.

There are no less than 5 TOS examples which implicitly or explicitly mix warp and weapons based on dialogue alone:

"Obsession," "Arena," "The Carbomite Maneuver," "The Ultimate Computer," and "Balance of Terror."

Enterprise actually shows this visually in "Shockwave." We also see ships shooting at each other at warp in DS9: "Treachery, Faith, and the Great River." This is far from a complete list.

Here. Someone says that, you point them to 11:30-12:40 of this video. It's perfectly clear visually and textually that the runabout is at warp during this engagement.

Although they are completely useless against ships which doesn't stop people on SB from trying to use that as evidence.
Much of the problem on SB.com in WH40k debates is that virtually nobody, including the pro-WH40k crowd, is familiar with more than a handful of cherry-picked examples.

If they were, they would know that WH40k's firepower levels are severely inconsistent - and that the closest thing resembling a consistent order of magnitude for WH40k weapons is megatons.

In some cases, the florid rhetoric underlies a fundamentally unimpressive yield. E.g.,
The great Sky Fortress bore Rogal Dorn and the remnants of the Imperial Fists to the inner palace. The loyal old general was determined to stand and die with his Emperor in the final hour. The Sky Fortress raced away from the palace in a desperate attempt to reach Jhagatai Khan and return him to the palace. It was destroyed by a blaze of fire fron the Death ́s Heads Titan Legions. Even in death its commander wrought havoc on the enemy, bringing the crippled vehicle down into the entre of the Chaos Horde. It seemed as if a new sun was born on Earth as the plasma reactor exploded, blasting out a crater three kilometres across. Those within the palace knew they were cut off; now they were truly alone. Only a miracle could save them.
This is a Sky Fortress; it's supposed to be something really impressive by WH40k standards. And yet the detonation of its plasma reactor only brews up in the megaton range.

Another major problem is that Titans can successfully threaten warships; even the most inflated Titan figures struggle to give them megatons.

Yet another is that we have very specific statements tying specific thicknesses of adamantium to warship hulls; which ties the warship weapons yield range to the ground weapons yield range.

If a warship with a hull mere metres thick can shrug off gigaton level fire, then it would take something like a megaton nuke to take down a Space Marine or Leman Russ - orders of magnitude above even the most inflated figures I've seen proposed by Connor on SDN.

The fact is that any in-depth examination of the WH40k figures reveals that they are being overstated by several orders of magnitude.

The same with the speed examples. The same handful of cherry-picked examples are cited, without any respect for the vast number of contradictory figures. Sometimes contradictory figures within the same novel, at that. Mr. Oragahn's detailed threads are recommended reading.

(There are a lot of them. Type in "WH40k" in our forum search engine with "Mr. Oragahn" in the author field and select "Display threads." Most of the frequently-used WH40k sources are covered in critical detail in one or more of the threads.)

The simple fact is that it's terribly easy to get good counterexamples to argue with for WH40k. It's just that in general, almost nobody who isn't really really into WH40k has ever bothered to read any of these sources. I'm generally disappointed by ST/WH40k debates on SB.com not just because the Saxtonite line is accepted and enforced by moderators; but because nobody bothers to exercise much critical thought or apply a rational standard of evidence to WH40k in those debates.

It's getting rather amusing now from what I see Inquisitor Ryan is trying to give the Eldar access to all necron technology.

I am betting the mod locks the thread now that it is almost certain the ST galaxy wins.

It is up for grabs if he declares W40k a winner or not.

HEH i was right, i just got a 3 day ban.

As per usual the "bait and wait" tactic is used on SB.com.

He even tries to cover himself by claiming the "he did it first" defence means jack and while i agree with that the fact remains he still did fuck all about the abuse i reported UNTIL i replied in kind so he could ban us both.

He used the "i was at work excuse" and its not the first time he has pulled that one out of his ass to try and justify the tactic although at least this time he did not warn me for a single simple sarcastic remark like he did last time.

Still what do you expect from a moderator staff and admins that willingly ignores and supports pedophillia and child rape comments and images in a VS thread as valid replies while supporting the condemnation of myself and others for actually daring to use what some consider "tech of the week" to actually engage in the debate and move it forwards....

Do you think they realise just how fucked up and twisted they have allowed that forum to become by supporting their asshole buddies on it?. I mean when a forum for vs debates allows images of a child about to be raped to be used and accepted as valid replies without comment from the moderational staff i really think the boards policies need to be re-examined.

It is considered acceptable to post a image of a terrified child clutching a blanket being approached by a naked hairy dude with the caption underneath saying "its that time again".

It is the typical spacebattles member way of saying they consider the VS scenario a mismatch...

Typical.

With all those three days bans you have scored by now, when will you get your week long bans?

I actually hope not, because it would mean you could not say X WTFrapes Y universe anymore.
Frankly, let's not fall to the other extreme and take this all too seriously. It would be counter productive.

no but the mods could all get into all kinds of trouble for that

what I think is really funny is when I get into an argument with SWST and he makes a dumb comment in the middle of his trolling over there I posted a picture a few Owl "orly" images

and i was threatened with a ban..but ya know the allusion to child rape is okay but funny owls aren't

Come on. Are you going they condemn all forms of torture because they're currently supporting a meme about Vlad Tepes?

not at all I find all forms of torture to be quite nice (kidding) no I wouldn't do anything this type of behavior is kinda common on most debate boards in one form or another now adays thanks to the popularity of 4chan, merely that I find the double standard hilarious..I guess my mexican owls where more offensive and politically incorrect then a fat hairy dude about to om nom..a kid

It's a cartoon, with no explicit sexual imagery. I don't think there's anything illegal with that.

Not that it's not bad taste, of course.

Unsurprisingly that "cute" idea comes from our friend White_Rabid. He's been displaying it for years in his sig at SDN (with a caption to the effect 40k r4pes Trek). I think it's originally from a Chick tract, but who gives a shit.

I guess that once a picture is finally accepted, it can be used often enough. But they don't want the board to turn into 4chan.
