The ICS handwaves heat problems with neutrino radiators, at least when it comes to shields. Plus another rack of simpler dissipation techniques using vacuum.

That isn't what the page says about the DBY-827. The page specifically says they have cooling fins on the top, and vents to expel spent coolants and gases. That says they have problems with heat when used. There is no mention of neutrino radiators you speak of on a Venator.

Re: The Incredible Cross Sections: Poorly Proofread?
I haven't checked. I know that neutrino radiators are related to shields notably, yet I can't remember seeing any line pointing to a specific piece of hardware of a Venator saying that this is a neutrino radiator, but perhaps you could find one, dunno. I was just throwing it in the wind.
Note that if it counts on mere fins and such "low tech" to cool down, those guns would probably barely manage a constant barrage of low gigajoule fire. I mean, look, even on a world like Mustafar, they considered that the only way to avoid their structure being damaged by lava was to shield them. They didn't have metals that would magically handle lava splashes.
Besides it's really odd to count on fins only, since cooling by radiation is not so effective.

I found the netrino radiators. They seem to be limited to only the weaker ships for some reason.Mr. Oragahn wrote:I haven't checked. The ICS don't seem to say what a number of so called warries say they do as if they never read the books themselves?

Invisible Hand

This means two things if the ICS are to be believed:
1) A lightly armed troop transport that is never used in combat or even fires has weapons 13 times more powerful then a heavily armed front line warship.
2) Even if a true warship can transfer its reactor output to its weapons, the weapons have a set maximum output in the Invisible Hands case, and implied in the Venator class.

A magnitude 10 earthquake is a release of about 63 exajoules or about 15 gigatons according to: http://www.convertalot.com/earthquake_p ... lator.html and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richter_magnitude_scaleQuad turbolaser cannon's maximum yield is equivalent to magnitude-10 earthquake

Not sure. He kind of disappeared after SWST was permabanned. Have you tried paging him recently?

I think RL is kicking him in the butt hard...
He pops up once a while in the Fanfic section when he has the time...
He should be around soon I guess... :)

i thought that might happen. i think i would have probably lost all interest in the board myself if i hadn't had you to shift my unhealthy obsession to.Mike DiCenso wrote:Not sure. He kind of disappeared after SWST was permabanned. Have you tried paging him recently?

I'm asking why you are posting those links to other threads?Mr. Oragahn wrote:

Are you disagreeing with me in some way?
I have no idea as to why you want me to look at your posts. What am I suppose to be looking for?

Can't remember. :DLucky wrote: I'm asking why you are posting those links to other threads?

I guess I was perhaps pointing out that I had already provided the data and pictures from the ROTS ICS on page 7 of our BDZ thread, and even commented on them and their implications in the first larger post I linked to (a post you have to scroll down to get to the relevant paragraph).
